    The only transcontinental network in North America, Canadian National Railway (CN) is a Class 1 railroad that serves Canada as well as the midwestern and southern US. CN operates a rail network of more t route-miles of track and more t employees. Canadian National Railways is Canada's largest railroad system. It was formed and became a government-owned "crown corporation" in when the assets of five virtually bankrupt railroads were acquired by the government and combined into one national company.
